Application Process

Grant Guidelines

  • Applicant

    The applicant must be a dedicated individual, educator or organization who is involved in the program being funded. (Applicants such as Principals and Presidents who have control over approving the organization's budget are not eligible.)

  • Recipient

    The proposed recipient must be tax-exempt and willing to accept the grant and use it in the required manner.

  • Purpose

    The proposed use of the grant must be to fully fund a specific education-related need or idea which promises to improve education and learning. Applications seeking funds for use outside of the boundaries of Louisiana will not be considered.

  • Support

    The applicant should provide a letter of support by those knowledgeable about the potential recipient; especially those who are involved, or plan to be involved, with the grant recipient's endeavors in Southeast Louisiana.

  • Limitations

    Applications shall not be considered or eligible when the purpose is to pay for sponsorship of a fundraising or "table" event, applicant does not meet criteria, purpose of funding is to pay expenses such as salaries or items not related to improving education (i.e. building maintenance), etc.

  • Quarterly Report

    A quarterly report must be sent to the Foundation on the grant's success. Please see the proof of performance form provided. Proof of performance reports are due March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 15 of the calendar year. Link to Proof of Performance Report

The delivery of grant funds shall be conditioned upon the recipient’s willingness, indicated inwritten form, to accept the grant and use it for the required time.

Restrictions

While not a complete list, we typically do not fund:

      • Capital requests (For example, the purchase or renovation of buildings, vehicles, or classrooms)
      • Endowments (For example, establishing an investment fund or a permanent, self-sustaining source of funding)

Application

When Can I Apply?

A grant application which meets the mentioned criteria must be submitted to the Foundation within the application period. This may be accomplished by using the electronic form below. Letters of support can be attached to your application.

How Will I Be Notified if I am Selected for the Grant?

An email from the Tesson Foundation will be sent to finalists!
